华慧考博—英语中一些相似的固定搭配
在英语的学习中，我们总会时不时地遇到一些相似的固定搭配。对于这些固定搭配，不少华慧考博的学员起初认为它们的意思差不多且可以相互替换，但在细查或因对它们的错误理解而在考试中失分后才发现相似的这些固定搭配原来在意思上有多么的不同！为了让大家更好地掌握相似的固定搭配的各自意思，在这里我们一起来进行一些总结。 1. be in hospital“住院”与in the hospital“在医院”
（1）We are taking up a collection to buy flowers for John because he is in hospital.
我们正在凑钱给约翰买花，因为他住院了。
（2）The women doctors and women nurses in the hospital add up to two hundred and five.
这个医院的女医生、女护士共计二百零五人。
2. go to school“上学”与go to the school“去学校”
（1）The boy chooses to stay at home rather than go to school even if his doctor says that he is not seriously sick at all.
这个男孩选择呆在家里而不是去上学，即使他的医生说他病得并不严重。
（2）In order to set a good example for their students, it is very necessary that all school teachers should go to the school on time from Monday to Friday.
为了给学生树立一个良好的榜样，所有学校的老师都必须从周一到周五准时去学校。
3. in case of“如果；以防”与in the case of“在……的情况下”
（1）In case of fire, run quickly toward the nearest door.
如果失火，就迅速朝最近的门跑去。
（2）The hospital has an auxiliary power system in case of blackout.
这家医院装有备用发电系统以防停电。
（3）In the case of dielectric breakdown, a different type of acceleration occurs.
在介质击穿的情况下，出现了一种不同类型的加速。
4. be in charge of“负责”与be in the charge of“由……负责”
（1）The foreman here is in charge of twenty workmen.
这儿的领班负责20个工人。
（2）This ward of the hospital is now in the charge of Dr. Tom from Monday to Tuesday.
从星期一到星期二医院的这间病房现由汤姆医生负责。
5. in course of“正在……中”与in the course of“在……过程中”
（1）Even if there are quite a few problems, the longest highway is in course of construction now.
即使有不少问题，最长的公路目前正在修建中。
（2）In the course of our trip, we have learned a great deal in all the places we visited.
在我们的旅行过程中，我们在所有我们去过的地方都学到了很多东西。
（3）In the course of the experiments, they came across a series of new problems that they never imagined.
在试验过程中他们碰到一系列他们从未想象过的新问题。
6. in place of“代替”与in the place of“在……地方”
（1）We make good use of special plastics in place of alloy.
我们充分利用特种塑料来代替合金。
（2）The traffic accident happened in the place of Lorraine.
这起交通事故发生在洛林这个地方。
7. in red“穿红衣服”与in the red“亏空”
（1）The girl in red is his younger sister.
那个穿红衣服的女孩是他的妹妹。
（2）The enterprise which has been operating in the red has decided to switch to other production.
那家一直经营亏空的企业已决定转产。
8. out of question“毫无疑问”与out of the question“不可能的”
（1）He was out of question the best player in our team last year.
毫无疑问，去年他是我们队里最优秀的运动员.
（2）It is totally out of the question to postpone the midnight deadline.
想要推迟午夜的最后期限是完全不可能的。
